Situated at 18 London Street, CKL’s new Hamilton office marks a return to the city’s central precinct, a full-circle moment in the company’s history. After nearly two decades in Te Rapa, the relocation presented an opportunity to craft a workspace that balances contemporary refinement with warmth and familiarity. In collaboration with Bevan and the architectural team at Edwards White, the design responds to both operational needs and the company’s story, integrating new elements alongside carefully repurposed furniture from the previous office.

The workspace centres on Classic Desks with black frames and Seasoned Oak Melteca tops. Radius corners introduce subtle softness, while a combination of straight desks and back-to-back configurations accommodates both individual focus and collaborative work. Central acoustic screens in Cardinal provide a visual and functional anchor, managing noise without compromising the clean, cohesive palette defined by black CMS elements. Every choice, from layout to materials, reflects a considered approach to comfort, functionality, and style.

Sustainability and continuity were key considerations. By integrating existing furniture, CKL preserved familiar elements while ensuring the space feels distinctly new. The resulting environment is both fresh and rooted, a seamless extension of the company’s culture and ethos.

CKL’s move is more than a relocation—it is a narrative in motion. From Tristram Street (1988–2006) to Church Road (2006–2025), and through two decades in Te Rapa, the company has evolved alongside the city. Returning to Hamilton CBD, just blocks from where it all began, the office is a testament to growth, resilience, and a renewed connection to the city’s core—a carefully considered workspace for the next chapter.
